Science & Technology Magnet High School - "Immersion"
New London, Connecticut
• 57,266 square feet
• Capacity: 360 students in Grades 9-12
• A STEM themed educational mall
The design connects students to mathematical principles that have been around for millenia. For example, exploration begins on the facade with playful Fibonacci fenestration. Inside, students witness the earth's rotation via a Foucault pendulum in the entrance gallery. Throughout the building additional STEM concepts spark curiosity such as exposed building systems and acid-etched floors describing scientific principles.
