Friar Architecture is a team of 18+ dedicated individuals working together to achieve excellence in architecture and engineering. Five firm members have worked here for over 20 years, and the majority of our team has worked here at least five years. Each staff member is encouraged to develop within his or her role. Licensed firm members provide mentorship, helping staff gain the training required for registration exams.

ARCHITECTURAL DESIGNER

Responsibilities

  • Preparing project design and construction documents using computer-assisted design software and equipment under direct supervision of project leaders and managers
  • Making corrections, revisions, red-line changes to architectural drawings
  • Creating renderings, colored elevators or other graphic materials
  • Preparing draft studies and reports for review
  • Assisting with field measurements, site observations and construction administration
  • Ability to take on additional responsibilities as needed

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master’s Architecture degree from an accredited college or university
  • At least one year of related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Proficient in using AutoCAD, Revit, BIM (Building Information Modeling) software, Illustrator, PhotoShop and Sketch Up as well as MS Office (Word, Excel, Access, Project). Experience with InDesign and Lumion a plus
  • Ability to use time productively, maximize efficiency, and meet work goals
  • Strong written and verbal communications skills
  • Detail-oriented
  • Ability to take on additional responsibilities as needed

 

PROJECT LEADER

Responsibilities, which include but are not limited to; meeting with clients, preparation of design and construction documents, team leadership, conducting presentations, project coordination and contract administration on a variety of architectural projects.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master’s Degree in Architecture from an accredited college or university
  • 3-5 years of related experience
  • License as an architect is preferred but not required
  • Proficient in using AutoCAD Revit, BIM (Building Information Modeling) software, Illustrator, PhotoShop and Sketch Up as well as MS Office (Word, Excel, Access, Project). Experience with InDesign and Lumion a plus
  • Ability to use time productively, maximize efficiency, and meets work goals
  • Ability to take on additional responsibilities as needed
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

 

PROJECT MANAGER

The qualified individual will be well rounded with experience managing multiple projects at the same time with a balance of technical expertise and aesthetic design. The role of Project Manager requires the individual to perform the following responsibilities, which include but are not limited to; meet with clients, consultants and contractors, preparation of design and construction documents, team leadership, conduct presentations, project coordination and contract administration on a variety of architectural projects.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Architecture from an accredited college or university required
  • 3 + years of experience in the role of project manager
  • License as an architect is preferred but not required
  • Proficient in using AutoCAD Architecture, Revit, BIM (Building Information Modeling) software, Illustrator, Photoshop and Sketch Up as well as MS Office (Word, Excel, Access, Project). Experience with InDesign a plus
  • Technical knowledge and architectural detailing skills
  • Ability to use time productively, maximize efficiency, and meet work goals
  • Ability to take on additional responsibilities as needed
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
