Career focused academy model schools have been an effective means to create more personalized and experiential learning for students that offer both academic choice and greater levels of preparation for 21st century post-secondary success.

An existing 254,000 square foot building, formerly occupied by an international corporation, is to be transformed into the Danbury Career Academy hosting 1,400 students. The school will serve as both a middle school, grades 6-8 and work in conjunction with Danbury High School serving grades 10-12. The new academy will include innovative learning for Biomedical Science, Sports and Human Performance, Therapeutic Health Services, Medical Technology and Engineering, and Environmental and Renewable Energy. The design incorporates firsthand learning opportunities including a greenhouse, an ambulance simulator, anatomage tables, 3D printers and much more. An 11,975 square foot addition includes a gymnasium and classroom.
