The building's facades were designed to reflect the City of Reggio Emilia's aesthetic. The interior plan, laid out in the Reggio Emilia teaching style, is complete with ateliers adjacent to the classrooms they support. The amphitheater serves as the central gathering space for the entire student body reminiscent of the city's main piazza.
