C.B. Jennings Elementary School - "Village"
New London, Connecticut
• 75,000 square feet
• Capacity: 600 students in Grades PreK-5
Picking up on the fabric of the industrial colonial vernacular, the facades and roofs integrate this large school into its municipal and residential neighborhood and virtually reduce its scale. Though on a small, urban site, the building's form provides safe play area by design. With wings radiating from the administrative hub, the architecture responds to the need for visual security.
