Manchester Public Library Construction Tour
Yesterday afternoon, Friar Architecture and O&G Industries Inc. led the Town of Manchester’s Library Building Committee and local leaders on a tour of the construction site. Prominently located on Main Street, the 75,000 SF library will serve as an anchor to the Downtown area and has a goal of becoming the first Net Zero public library in the state. Plans include 40 geothermal wells, a 200kW solar photovoltaic array, and an 840kWh battery energy storage system (BESS), with a targeted Energy Use Intensity (EUI) of just 19kBTU per square foot per year. The library is expected to open in the summer of 2026. Look for it when you tune in to the Manchester Road Race on Thanksgiving morning!
