danbury high school addition

Friar Architecture recently completed a 72,000 sf addition to Danbury High School, the largest public high school in Connecticut. This addition includes a new gymnasium with a Freshman Academy above. The new structure faces the playfields, creating a threshold between the large urban high school and the athletics complex. Metal panels and masonry coupled with a curvilinear volume were used to give the feeling of a stadium. Click here to see the project.
